My Muscles Are Sore from All the Cringing While Reading the Mortal Instruments Series...HELP!

Okay people....tell me what to do.  So I borrowed The Mortal Instruments Series from my sister.  I burned through City of Bones in like a day (Yeah....I know I'm late to the party....by like a lot,  I know its unforgivable for a book blogger but get over it and keep reading!).  I burned through the first half of City of Ashes in about another day.  Then I stopped.  It just got too creepy.  I'm at a point where I want a spoiler.  Jace and Clary's relationship is so icky to me it is ruining the books.  Please tell me in the comments if I should keep reading or bail.

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

If Jace and Clary are really brother and sister, I seriously don't want to read anymore, its just too gross.  So hit the comments and tell me if I should keep going.  My muscles are super sores from cringing through the reading.....please spoil it for me!!!

***IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE SERIES, THE COMMENTS ARE GOING TO BE FULL OF SPOILERS.....YE BE WARNED!***

dang, I'm the first? I was hoping for spoilers! I still haven't read the series and I agree, brother/sister is cringe worthy.

Ohh I had this exact same experience when I first read this series!! Don't worry you are not alone and you definitely need to continue reading because no they are not in fact brother and sister. I hope you stick with it because you don't want to miss out on an incredible series :) :)

Lol. I haven't read this series but I love to read voices in dissent.

Of course, they're not! But, I agree, the possibility that they COULD be is disturbing.

It's a great series -- keep reading!

Hi there!
I just finished City of Ashes and cannot believe they would leave these two as brother and sister. It seems like they set it up for things to change in this book when Simon told her they were only going to be friends. I can't wait to see what happens. I followed you. I'm at www.thebooknerd2013.blogspot.com. I just did a brief review of City of Ashes.
Happy reading!

Same problem here. I hated that they were brother and sister at the end. I did finish the second book and at the end, I couldn't believe that their status hadn't changed! I couldn't even pick the third one up without knowing that something would change. I cheated just a little by looking at the summary of the next couple of books on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and it seems to point toward Jace and Clary not being brother and sister. I'll keep going now... lol

I followed you. Looking for some more followers myself and it seems like we have some books in common. Check it out if interested!

Keep going! I was going to stop after the first one because I was so mad about how it ended. I went back a couple of months later and read the summary on Barnes and Noble and it seemed like they wouldn't really be siblings. I'm starting the 4th book today and I'm glad I didn't give up!
