Honeymoon

James Patterson and Howard Roughan

How does it feel to be desired by every man and envied by every woman? Wonderful. This is the life Nora Sinclair has dreamed about, the life she's worked hard for, the life she will never give up. Meet Nora Sinclair.
When FBI agent John O'Hara first sees her, she seems perfect. She has the looks. The career. The clothes. The wit. The sophistication. The tantalizing sex appeal. The whole extraordinary package - and men fall in line to court her. She doesn't just attract men, she enthralls them. If you dare.
So why is the FBI so interested in Nora Sinclair? Mysterious things keep happening to people around her, especially the men. And there is something dangerous about Nora when Agent O'Hara looks closer - something that lures him at the same time that it fills him with fear. Is there something dark hidden among the unexplained gaps in her past? And as he spends more and more time getting to know her, is he pursuing justice? Or his own fatal obsession?

My Take:

Did not love it.  I didn't find myself rooting for the hero at all.  While reading the book I would sometimes think, "You know, I think I'm almost rooting for the bad guy just because the good guy is so stupid".  If he would have controlled his hormones for about a millisecond, he could have seen the ridiculousness of the situation.  Thankfully, by the end he wises up and realizes how stupid he was acting.  If this is your first experience with James Patterson and you weren't crazy about it, I'd give him another try, I really enjoy most of his books.  All that having been said, the book is exciting, and it is in fact a page turner.  The whole time, you aren't quite sure if you like it, but you want to keep flipping the pages to try to make up your mind, and it has a good solid ending.  It is a quick read, so it isn't a waste of time, overall, I'd rate this book a 4, Borrow from a Friend.  Like I said, it isn't a waste of time, but don't spend a dime on it either.

Did you agree with my review?  Do you think I'm totally off base?  Either way I'd love to hear what you have to say, be sure to leave a comment and tell me how you feel!

If you enjoy excitement, check out these titles, also by James Patterson: Step on a Crack, Roses are Red, The Lake House, The Jester

Looking for something a little more tame?  You might check out the PG-13 or PG sections.

Can't get enough adventure, check out the action-adventure section of The Book Buff

If this book were a movie it would likely be rated R for strong sexual content and strong adult language.
